For the past few months I have not only been training to add long distance mileage to my running schedule, but I have been trying to do a 5K in under 30 minutes. Now to some people and a lot of runners this probably sounds like nothing. But I tend to run slower and I am 4’11 which means my legs are wee. Sure there are lots of wee runners out there that run perfectly fast, but it’s a little bit harder for us. Today though, today I pushed through and finally ran a 5K in 29:50. Yes, ten seconds under and I am proud as heck. Sure it means I have to keep pushing and eventually I will get even faster but I hustled, I didn’t give up, and I did it!
